orange light

hi all
just havin a senior moment . can some one remind me what the orange light on dash is fer (the one that should go out when you drive a few yards), only mine seem's to have disappeard altogether . evrythin else seems fine.......stoopid thing ....an me

cheers george, it's all come back to me now . anyway wot append was........i was goin down a steep hill with HDC on an erd a funny old scrapin noise.. , ever since then, said abs light as disappeard. ave i broke summat? started to pee me off now ..HDC lights come on as norm, is summat wrong with abs.......help....now where did i put them keys.......

Hey nige.. dats amba.. ya gotta get redy ta go......

If HDC is working i'd imagine your ABS is working, are you sure it's not just the dashboard lamp that blown? When you first put your key in and turn one 'click' do all the lights come on?

light still not workin. tried it in HDC again today, horrible scrapin noise!!.flick switch off, no noise... ****in fing. booked in garage fer next week, hope warranty covers it .......

Is it a metal on metal noise and does it only happen in HDC mode or do you get a similar noise when under normal braking? May sound basic but have you checked your brake pads/shoes to see if thier down to the metal?

i get that sort of noise with my hdc, but not with normal braking????????

its normal, sound of the valves working

Agree with aussie, when the HDC operates the brake pads are continuously applied and released very quickly make a sort pulsing springy sound, this will be different from a metal scraping sound. If you only get the noise with HDC and it works OK then I'd say it was the normal noise of the valves.

definately feels like a scrapin noise, but only with HDC, normal mode seems perfick. i'll give it another go tomorrow. booked in for friday next week to be checked (still under warranty), MIGHT AS WELL..oops....eh ..thanks lads .
