Anyone tried fitting an Optima Yellow Top 5.5 into the standard battery bay of a Disco 1 (1998). I have measured the bay and reck it should just about squeeze in but its a bit of an expensive mistake if it wont quite go (I'll be ordering it on-line!).
I'm aware that the clamp will probably need modifying due to the extra height but hope to not have to replace the HT leads etc. as I;m a little short on time at the moment.

PS - do I understand from other threads that the Rev Counter is fed from an electrical output off the altinator. I had a squeek from the belt (especially in the rain) for a month or 2 but last night the squeek disapeared completely but so did my Rev counter, it now wobbles violently around 500 - 1500 revs if im hammering it at ~70mph (usually 2.5-3k) but anything less and it sits flat 0. Rev counter is not an urgent problem but if it is 'coz the belts about to drop off (conected to the squeek?) I probably need to deal with it a bit more urgently!
