Hi all, have been looking at getting a TD5 for a while, and have been lurking here and generally picking up bits of info on what to look for etc.

I've been to look at one today, 03 GS with 93k on the clock, looks in mint condition, only had one owner, fully stamped up service history (all from James Edwards) lots of receipts and paperwork.

I've taken it out for a test drive (and it seemed fine, however it was an auto and i'm not used to those), I've looked for the normal rust spots and such but can't see any tell tale signs, engine looks clean enough (probably been steam cleaned, so could be masking problems)

No obvious warning lights showing that shouldn't be etc.

Now it is being offered for just under £8k, would in the esteemed knowledge on here seem a tad high? baring in mind it is from a garage, and not a private sale.

Any opinions would be nice, thanks

OK according to LRO used vehicles price guide a mint 02-03 S Td5 7 seat is valued at £9860 a mid range at £7885. I always think the value must increase if its an auto and if you have a good warranty, Lr dealers will add a £1000 for the warranty.

I got mine in feburary this year, 2003 TD5 ES 5 seat auto 2 owners from new, full service history and lots of recipts for work done at the main dealers in Lichfield. 98000 on the clock at the time of purchase. Mine was up for £8995, got £2000 px for my 1996 range rover p38 4.6.
So i think its about right for a garage, prices seem to vary from place to place.
But only having one owner from new means that the previous owner must have been happy with it or they would have dropped it long before now, and it would have had a string of owners.
The choice at the end of the day is up to you.
Good luck, and let us know what you decide. :pop2:
