97' 300tdi
has r380 gearbox.
was trying to fix (again) reverse light switch, decided to nip the 5 miles to shop to get new switch whist forgetting to put old switch back in, hence have lost some gearbox oil.
how much am i likely to have lost in the roughly 5 miles of driving, cant check the level as i havent got a tx55 bit yet but will be getting one tomorrow.

lol i know im going to get a fair bit of stick for it, but i see it as educational!!
will just drain and refill gearbox tomorrow me thinks.

And let the forum know how much oil was lost.

I picked up my company car after being serviced once and the oil-filler cap on the rocker cover wasn't replaced I ended with an engine bay and boot and back window swamped in engine oil after my 25 mile A road journey home.

Went back next morning to get it all sorted out.
