Mandatory ... why?
It appears they had a roll-cage, it appears they had decent seatbelts, it
appears no-one got hurt, so why make it mandatory for helmets to be worn?
Why introduce yet more legislation in a knee-jerk reaction to an accident
type that few of us, in reality, will ever see?
I have no problems with people wearing helmets, indeed I often do, it's a
free choice after all, but to legislate for it is a ludicrous suggestion and
only allows further scope for even tighter legislation that will eventually
push us away from 'dangerous sports/activities' and back home where we can
be safe. There are more serious accidents in the home than there are
off-roading, are you advocating helmets to be made mandatory to wear inside
a house?
