replaced the fan belt on my d s e yesterday ,WOT a p i t a no room,cant get me hands ,cant get a lever on the tensioner ,what a chewy bloody job,2 fekin hours on a p38,,,,,,10 min on me classic,up to the eyes, bones aching full bottle o wine jobby im knackered this am so much for modern motors ffs,,,,,,,dave

There a lot easier if you take the engine out.:)
 
the p38 is a piece of ****, 15mm spanner on the tensioner, and belt drops off, get it out, then put new one round bottom and middle pulley (bit tight b'tween pulleys) and pull both ends of the v up, aircon side first then 15mm spanner and pull the tensioner in hook belt round pulley!!! job done!!!
 
Hi Big Dave.... this is job 138 on my DSE... and i had a quick look the other day.. o m g !!.. horlicks to that!!... i thought.. any way i got 137 jobs before i do that one... all jokes aside it looks tough as there is no room!!
 
cheers gav i knew there must be an easier way [lack of info at my end],i must admit i wasnt in the best frame of mind to do the job,iwas stuck at the time and needed the motor,i was cold wet and hungry thourourly ****ed of in fact,you know how it is,rout of belt no prob,availabilty of belt no prob ,cost no prob,tools no prob patience and understanding [at the time 0] .I just couldnt se an easy way ,knew there had to be 1 ,blind i suppose in the end my son sez feck of da make a brew and ill do it,,,,best offer i had all week.HE had @ an hour at it all done sez he ffs,next time get some ****er else to do it!!!!! anyway thanks a lot for the input mate ha will know better next time ha ha all the best to you and yours for the season........cheers dave
