Had another look at the car this morning. A few weeks back had problems with keyfobs and thanks to Mozz got it started. New Rf fitted.
I can use the car the fob unlocks the door and the engine starts. I can only lock the car using the key in the lock.

Ongoing issues:-only the upper rear passenger courtesy light works-all the lower ones do as well. The others and the front central are dead-even if you push the switches.
Tailgate is also refusing to open-sometimes if I thump it I can get the upper to open but not the lower.

What I discovered this morning as well was that when I lock the car by the key if I now press the fob it superlocks it and winds up the windows and sunroof-but the fob will not initially lock the car.
I've checked fuses-could the BECM be playing up? Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Steve

I'm with Datatek on this....if the tail gate lock is playing around, it could lead to the vehicle not locking itself as it thinks one aperture is open!

But I thought the system will lock the closed apertures and alarm those, but not the open aperture!

hi steve have you replaced the microswitch on the boot ????????? this is a cheap fix so i would agree with data on that before spending heavy money on other things ???????? then if its not that at least you can eliminate a) microswitches b) rf reciever etc etc // let me know how you get on ??? cheers mozz ,,oh did you manage to get it on dianostics yet /??????????? :):):)

thanks
By the micro switch do you mean the push button on the boot? I,ll check if it is by shorting it out.
Have not had it on diagnostics yet- will sort try and sor the above out. Still don,t understand why the lights are not working-will have a look at rave.

Cheers

There is the push button and the micro switches that indicate the door is closed.

Update!
Had a look this afternoon. Noticed that if I left the car unlocked and the one working interior light went off (after the delay) the boot would operate. With that interior light on it would not. So I disabled the interior lights by pressing the middle button on the roof lights and the message came up int lights off.
Boot opened immediately and now the fob locks and unlocks the car.

Not really bothered about interior lights but will scour rave to find out why it was doing it.

Cheers

Nice one:) Sounds like you have a wiring problem on the interior lights. Drivers footwell carpet not wet by any chance?

Thanks Keith

I have got a slight leak from my o rings but not enough to dampen the carpets-I have a rag stuffed in the gap-whats in the drivers footwell?

Cheers Steve

Thanks Saint,
No the carpet is dry as a bone-I'll have a look at the rave wiring diagrams and see if anything pops up-still looks like a computer issue though.

Have you looked under the carpet? It can appear dry on top but the underfelt can still be soaking wet. It wicks down from the O rings under the top layer of the carpet.
I still believe if you solve the interior light problem there is a good chance you will resolve the other problems. Locking/unlocking and interior lights are linked in the software in the BECM so it seems possible that one can affect the other.
