As most of you know I was fleeced by my local garage when I broght my N reg disco Tdi. Been having problems with loosing power while towing, so EGR valve has been blanked off and the fuel filter/sediment bowl changed/cleaned. Seems to have fixed the problem. Yipee I went. Silly me.

Spent an hour to day replacing the propshaft coupling that broke while towing wednesday night. It had been put on the wrong way round!

Upon inspection, found that the drivers rear lower link needs replacing, along with front shocks and re-matching of tyres is required! (These are the tyres that the garage put on for me!)

Bearing in mind, this is the same garage that told me that "considering the age and mileage of the landy", I should expect to loose about 1/2 a cup of oil every night and the split breather pipe had nothing to do with it!

I am going to end this with a big thank you to my Knight in shinning armour who has rescued me each time I have broken down (twice now) and has helped me with these repaires.

Thank you. :D :D

How about you tell us who this wonderful garage is so we can all throw our money at it too.

Aye, Right ..... but really, do tell us who it was.

I am not going to state names as I can't be bothered with the legal battle, but they know how they are. One of the owners is supposed to be a landrover franatic, therefore proberly uses this forum. If I was in a different situation then the current one, then I wouldn't care and I would go for the throght. (And I would enjoy it!)

PM me the details and I'll post em up. If they've stitched you up they deserve to be named. Hate rip off fecking garages. send me their phone number and i'll spend a couple of hours phoning em up and putting the phone down when they answer. That should annoy the buggers to ge things started.

Thank you RedHand, but no. If I do decide to do something about it I have to have a clean sheet. However, my little brain cells have suddenly clumped togerther and come up with a question.

QUESTION: would the landy passed its MOT with the propshaft coupling the wrong way round? Is that part of the MOT?

No but if it had any play in it that would be.

If you were to ask the MoT people about your concerns they would probably carry out a secret test of the place ..... and ......

You get the idea?

You've been fleeced Ebony Ivory by someone who sounds like they don't give a toss about your troubles. If you think they use this forum, time we all knew about it. Slip Redhand the number - I'm sure he'll be diplomatic under the circumstamces. We can wait a month or so till the heats off and then go for it!

I won't say a word everytime I'm bored or got 5 minutes to spare I'll phone em up, then as soon as they answer Just hang up nowt worse then been dragged away from a job to answer the phone only to find there's no one there.

Then there's the army of salesmen and financial advisors you can send round. Times money and if you waste their time you cost em money. It'll be a pleasure, I do like a good windup.

Now lets not get carried away here.

Its all very well doin things in the heat of the moment, However, waisting other peoples time is a criminal offence!!!!!!
