One way brake bleed valve

Hi all

Not for me this time, for my dad. I'm sure I've read posts of people using a one way valve after the bleed nipple to save air entering back into the caliper. Do they work? And does anyone know where I can find them?
 
If they've got a decent spring to hold them shut but still open when pressing the brake pedal and the seat in the cylinder is free from damage then they do work. Fitted a set to the Dolly Sprint yonks ago and they worked perfectly. Bought some stainless ones for the wife's Jimny (think they were from Ripspeed) and they've worked perfectly well. Can get just as good a result has having someone pump the pedal while someone else is at the brakes but it's a lot easier and means you can get on with the task if you are on your own.
 
An NRV bleed tube works well for general air removal, but it's best to tighten nipple on final stroke before letting pedal up.
 
I find a pressure bleeder to be best as it always gives a positive constant flow with no chance of air being introduced. That can also help keeping any bubbles moving in the correct direction and not floating back up the pipe between strokes, also easy for one man use.
 
One man eezibleed by Gunson has good intentions BUT it does have the propensity to leak after a short amount of usage

Those of you that use the eezi bleed, is it wise to pump the brake pedal as well? If needed.
 
I've used a one man bleed pipe for years and never had a problem, simply a rubber tube, blanked one end with a slit in rubber allows fluid out but not in.

I've used various versions of the rubber tube with a valve over the years, always been satisfactory. General principle is that you will need to do it again after a few miles, when the last of the air has collected together, but I find this applies whatever system you use.
