One shot on passenger window?

I recently found that the one shot lowering of the drivers side electric window had stopped working, but a search on here showed how to recalibrate and now that is sorted :)
However, the passenger side will not lower unless I hold on to the switch until it reaches the bottom and it will not recalibrate in the same way the drivers side did.

A very small thing I know, but can anyone advise if this the norm please? I have the 3 door model.

My 2001 V6 has one touch on the drivers window. I believe the switchs are different between sides. I'm sure I got the switchs mixed up when refitting the console, this stopped the one touch working.
It would be nice to have one touch up too!!

It depends on the wiring. If your window switchs are in front of the gear stick, then the wiring is Pre-CAN bus. This means no one touch window. If your window switchs are in behind the handbrake, the later wiring is fitted and one touch should work.
On a 99 MY the window switchs should be in front of the gear stick. Sadly no one touch is fitted.
 
The switches are the same from 98-2004. Just a "one touch" controller that are fitted between it and the window(with one shot). From 2004 it is integrated in the drivers door window lift panel. It also have a "voltage step up circuit" so the window works a little faster.

On my post earlier I said I did not have one touch.Well guess what after owning car for three years I have just found out it has.
I have always left my finger on button after pushing it "It shows you can never stop learning":eek:

Just press the button again and it would stop. A one touch up system is much more complex. This is because of the safety systems it has to have to avoid entrapment. They often have a current sensing control that backs the window down should it hit an object. I tried this today on the wife's Astra GTC. That has one touch up and down on driver and passenger windows. I set the window to go up with my hand in the way. The window briefly pushed against my hand before dropping back down.
I knew this would be the case, i've tried it many times in the past on many different cars.

Those voltage sensing gizmos can be fooled though. My brother's Evoke had a problem where the fancy "big round dial" that pops up - wouldn't pop up. Turned out to be a problem with one of the plastic mouldings in it that was catching as the dial went up and therefore drew more current on the motor - so it wouldn't go up. Poor bloke had to rely on his RR Sport to get around in.

I don't have problems with windows not having 1 touch on my '99 - but I do have issues with the windows not operating after you turn the engine off. Its a real pain having to turn the ignition back on to close windows.
 
One touch drop on the drivers window was added for the 2001 model year (started late 2000) so it's available on all Td4's, v6 and 2001 model year onwards 1.8's. It's a programmable option in the computer so it can be enabled/disabled depending on the market the Freelander is sold too or if the owner dun't want it. The controller for this is just above the bonnet release puller originally.

At the same time they added the feature to allow the power to stay on for 20 seconds to allow windows to close if the ignition was oft.
