I have another word for that. If you have never done one before, you do not have service sheets or use associated part separation methods. Stupidity is more appropriate. Especially when you have been told what the problem is.

I see your point , but circumstances ,stuck in the middle of say Mongolia can make you do desperate things and take drastic measures . It's not like you can pick up the phone and call the AA is it .

You can be a test sometimes o let me gues you would of got it recovered, t0 a nice clean work shop with a lap top toilet and kettle .

Maybe him being an ex hag autobox teck would of helped him somewhat .

If you are in Mongolia the least of your worries is the box taking a little longer to change gear i would have thought. However for someone who thinks the engine ECU temp sensor should be hanging on a wire in the engine bay. Stripping the valve block anywhere even in a fully heated and equipped workshop, especially without service sheets is a considerable bridge to far. It didn't seem to maybe he is a slow learner. He should have known better than to attempt it.

I only fixed ecu temp sensor last week and about three weeks brfofe that I did notice a connector block dangling , this tread was started in July I don't know how long it's been like that .

No neither do i, but after an extended thread about his many problems with no headway, seeing the photo of it hanging did sort of ring alarm bells. Pretty obvious to be honest. And should have been so to him. This forum is much like a computer if you post the wrong descriptive info you can't hope to get the correct answer back. You get dozens of guesses, sometimes from people who don't have a bloody clue what they are on about. The frustrating part of it is trying to post questions to get a better picture, then being totally ignored whilst the OP follows advice from someone who is bloody clueless. Have you never heard of SISO?

Wasnt the first post descriptive enough for you ? with a man of your knowledge you should have picked up the fault then Rick the pick did but its 3 months late.
and when the valve block was stripped the oil was burt and full of black **** thats why i changed the box.

I did mention the ECU temp sensor being the problem in Grits thread. Surely you should have known it should not be hanging in the engine bay. When grit posted the photo of it, the problem became obvious. You described a gearbox problem that caused you to eventually change the box. You did not say oh by the way my ECU temperature sensor is hanging on a wire in the engine bay.
 
You may have noticed i had no part in this thread until 10 November. I did not see the thread back in July. Only when Grit started a thread in September about your powerbox did i get involved. That was some question about speedo readings. Not gearbox problems. I am good but i do not have ESP.
 
Thanks for referring me to this link as I have the same issues with mine... I'll be getting this temp sensor tomorrow hopefully get it fitted and give the full car a service and fingers crossed I'll have a properly functioning vehicle I can enjoy and stop panicking!!
