Hi all,
Could anyone please advise me upon removing the old rivets from the back tub of a lightweight, any tips ? What size drill does the job etc.?

Plus are replacement rivets (same size etc) available from any suppliers.

i used 3/16" rivets when repalcing rear floor, these need a 5mm hole to install the rivet,
to get them out its ok to use a bit bigger drill but slow speed and gently just to remove the head (so as not to enlarge the original hole)

Great advice, worked a treat, used a 5m drill bit, and off they cames :).

On some panels I noticed like small spot welds, anyone got any clues as to what options I can undo these with, again is it just amatter of drilling into the spot welds...? so that I can remove the old panels.

they are spot welds you will need to drill them or you could try to split them with a small chisle but you will prob bend the panel that way , by the way what was up with you suspension in the end

Thanks Landybloke....I'll give the drill ago on the spot welds, rather than bending the panels, Re the lean, I think the only way to get rid of it, will be if I replace the following items, springs, shockers, etc...Im just stuck as to which springs, i.e normal Land Rover ones, or Parabolics ones..It would be nice to hear from anyone who has done this, before spending so much money...

hello mate parrys are good especially on a light weight you will have a very comfy ride but of course will lose originallity if your using it dat to day and not worried about some berk with bad addonoids pointing out your non standard springs go for the parrys you may find the spring hanger bolts are extremely tight, a blow torch to get some heat on them to aid removal works wonders also think about fitting poly bushes , again old ones are a pig and may need to be burned out or use a hacksaw blade ref to lean i doubted a while back that chassis would be bent , i take it hangers are hanging at correct angle and can move ? good luck let me know how you get on

Parrys seem like a great option, however I'm really trying to keep it totally orginal, it's only used as a weekend toy etc..Could anyone surgest a good place to purchase orginal UK Made springs..? Plus some good shockers etc..?
P.S Does anyone also know if I can purchase new rivets i.e. the same as the ones I've removed from my spare tub..?
Thanks

name of company you want is "British Springs" and Dunsfold landrover sell them and they were fitted as standard as for shocks they can help out with them too, by the way i believe you are in biggin if im not mistaken (i may be ) but dunsfold are just the other side of guildford
