Hi guys
Whilst there has been naff all on telly recently i've been watching a lot of youtube vids mainly 4x4's off roading and it suddenly dawned on me that there seems to be loads of different lift kits and stuff for the likes of leaf sprung Jeeps and toyota landcruiser's and alike but there seems to be very little for series land rover's, why is this

Because land rovers are perfectly capable in stock form..
never understood the need for comedy lifts.

"Parrots bollocks" seemed to be flavour of the month a good few years ago, don't know if still available. IIRC from Steve Parker.

That's always a skill of the Yanks, Harleys are the same, sell potentially good vehicles at a keen prices then make all the money on selling the bits to make it work properly. HD got around the emission specs by shipping the bikes with a very lean mix, then selling a kit with the right needles in that had to be fitted by a dealer to maintain warrenty, it used to be called "the Harley tax".
It makes me smile - "heavy duty brakes", "Heavy duty shocks" just do the decent thing and fit the right size when you sell them. Even now the brakes on some of the Yank pick ups are appallingly small.

Always amuses me watching titles such as '4x4 fails' on YouTube. Nearly all the best roll-overs are vehicles with absurd lifts & big bouncy tyres.
Back in the 'eighties I successfully competed in trials with perfectly standard Series LR's, but then again I didn't try to drive them over terrain best suited to a mountain goat
