YES I gone & bought an OVLOV!!!!!




I looked & looked fer a (Half Decent) Rangie in my limited price bracket but to no avail ....What was available needed work doin & I had a Strict timeframe to work to (As of last week Son & Daugher-in-law are full time graftin, so Grand Daughter to & from School until further notice)

Had to be an Auto (Mrs Likes Auto's) had to have a "Ticket" & Tax ....

Got a phone call from a mate who said there was a "Liquidation" sale/Auction on in Lancaster last Sat afto ....Had Fook all else to do so me & my lad rolls up there ....(Thought I'd get a new PC or lappy fer the mrs!!!)..... Anyhow ...pulls in & theres this Saffron Orange Volvo C70 (Wiv Private plates) parked outside ...Says to my lad "See that'd do fer yer mam" & wanders off into the auction .....

Bout an hour later (after sellin Pc's & desks & stuff) auctioneer says "LOT 203 you'll have seen it outside Saffron Orange Volvo C70" ....My Ears Pricked up then!!!!.....

So I had a quick punt ...(Got outbid by some "Other" person) not to be out done I shuves me hand in the air again & teks a quick peek round (T'other dude had fooked off) ......

HAMMER DOWN TO ME AT £1010 + Fees ..TOTAL £1161.50 ....


Turns out to be a 2002 Volvo C70 fully loaded with Sat Nav, Leather, Cruise 2.5 T5 Turbo "R" spec ... 5 months MOT & 4 Tax ......

I rang "Newreg" in Preston on monday last & asked em to value the plate ... Emailed me a cert back sayin they'd give me £935 + the transfer fee IF I wanna sell it ...(DECIDED I DON'T!!)

T5s go very well and dont really slow down in pullin till 143.

5pot sound aswel

get a re-map to keep up with m3s in a straight line.

fair play to you Claw, needs must and all that.

I used to have an 850 t5 meself and it would just eat motorway miles and **** off many a boy racer which is always fun in an estate car

looks tidy though I would have been tempted to sell the plates then you would have had a nice motor for effectively £200.

I think its bin "Tweeked" already Juicey ... **** ME does it go!!!!! THE VERY BEST THING is ...it has a built in Phone system (Volvo/Nokia) Speaker is built into the divers headrest & the Mic is on a "Gooseneck" from the side ...(Looks like a Mic from Capt Scarlets Hat) .... LOVE IT!!!!

I did think bout that but as its "C70 XX" on a "C70" I'll probs get more fer it if I sell it wiv the car ....

After Id finished playing with mums (M56L manual box) it would spin in 1st 2nd in the dry and 1st 2nd 3rs in the damp

ate a set of GSD3s in 5000miles

I doubt you will get more than you paid for the car tho claw, sell it and have a free car mate. dunno if volvo still make the c70 but soon they wont and then the plate wont be wort much the longer you leave it.

I bought my missus one of the soft top C70's in 2004. She said it was the best car she had ever had (Until she decided that the Rangie was hers). Learned a big lesson with it though and that was never take it to the main stealers for a service. Got hit for nearly 500 soves. They even (tried) to charge me 13 quid to fill the washer bottle.

It's an awesome car and the 5 cylinders sounds real good. Enjoy...

Cheers JT TBH I am quite enjoyin drivin it ... (When it arrives back from GOD KNOWS WHERE shes taken it !!!) ...

Noticed that the ABS/TRACS light "Flickers" abit ... Did some Diggin & found the ABS ECU suffers from "Dry Joints" so that bastid will be removed in the mornin & Re-Soldered ....

Also I cannot find if its had a Cam Belt (should have its done 145K) but I think I'll Eerr on the side of caution & get it changed next week some time ....

I would say 80K max for the cam belt, disasterous if it goes. Ford always overestimate the cambelt life in my experience.

Its DEFFO bin done once (Maybe Twice) coz all the cam cover clips are broke so some coooont has had it off!!! ....

I rang Volvo (They did the last service at 125K) & asked em ..all I got was (POSH VOICE NOW)
