Hello you good folks ,i brought a 2005 2.7td v6 range rover with a major oil leak thought id take a gamble lol,anyway i started to strip engine down as the oil leak was very bad and found the cam belt an pullies look like new and so does the oil pump which looks like its been changed to the upgraded 1 , anyway after removing crank bolt the pulley came off easy only to find the oil seal about a 1" from the oil pump sitting place ,question is should the seal have been locktighted in ?

Welcome to LZ. :)

Range Rover section can answer that kind of question.

You need special tool to fit seal, seal and crank must be bone dry, genuine seal only.

Welcome. The natives like pics of the vehicle* in this section. It makes them do the happy dance. Pics of the innards are better off in the technical section :)

* yep even sports
