Just putting my 2.25 Petrol (1965) back together after a rebuild and was just woundering if anybody knows if the oil pump needs to be primed with Vaseline?

As stated prime to be on the safe side,I've used STP oil treatment for rebuilds in the past as it's like treacle and goes nowhere until the engine oil mixes with it

oil pump sits below oil level ,its primed a few minuets after filling with oil,presumably you lubricated parts as you built it ,then thats enough

Thanks - I was thinking that its not neccessary to prime it looking at the oil flow.

bodgers, put some oil in it, far better than air for the first revolution or two
