Hi,
I have an 03 Freelander TD4 and this morning my oil pressure warning light came on when I pressed down on the accelerator as I started my journey to work. It went off if I kept my foot just on the accelerator. It did this in every gear for approx 6 miles then everything was fine for my remaining 1 mile to work. However on my way home it started again after approx 2 miles of my journey. If I keep my foot pressed down on the accelerator the oil pressure warning light comes on and I lose power. I am hoping it's only a service I need (last one done just over 12 months ago) but I have a feeling someone is going to tell me different.
Anyone got any ideas as I have booked it in for a service tomorrow and I may be wasting money.

Regards

Paul

Hi, I check the level approx every week and today was checked and just below full level. The last service was just over 12 months ago (full service) and it has done approx 9000 miles since last service.

The obvious and sensible to do is have them check the oil pressure after they have carried out the service and go from there.

Thanks all,
But first of all I must apologise for my absolute ignorance of my dashboard warning lights. The garage has phoned me today to tell me that the warning light that is showing is actually the engine management and not the oil pressure.... durrrrrr....
I will wait and see what they say.

Thanks for the replies though.

Paul
