Oil pressure switch

Anyone know the thread size/type for the stock oil pressure switch above the oil filter on a 300tdi?

IIRC it's still 1/2" UNF.

Why do you need the thread detail as it would be easier to just buy one off the shelf?

I thought it was m10 × 1. But I could be wrong

300 is m10x1 you wanting to fit a tee?

I'm after fitting a vdo oil pressure gauge. So need the thread to get the correct adapter. I think m10x1 is correct based on anything iv seen so far.

thought so, get a t-piece so you can stick in the orig sender too for the dash warning. vdo gauge is probably 1/8npt.

i used a different gauge, but i think i used Oil Pressure "T" Piece BL/Rover 1/8 NPT to M10/1 (010/M) | eBay which didn't cause any clearance issues

Yeah plan is to reuse the std one too. Vdo is also 10x1

when you are done, let me know your pressures when cold and cold and idle.. just curious

Will do. Spec is meant to be 3bar at idle when cold, 1.5-3 bar at 3500 rpm when hot. Taken from Haynes

ah right. no tacho.. but i find when hot at not too loud on the motorway it will go to 3bar. cold normal driving it sits at 5 for a long time. hot idle is 1-2.

I guess it's only really if it's low is it a problem.

yup, that's what i gather. but if it changes from normal behaviour then it could show something changed/worn
