plus can’t see why room wise the existing long sensor won’t screw back into the Y piece

cant Thk u enough and another reason I ask on here because that’s a perfect solution
Welcome, i'm glad i was able to help :)... i used such Y piece on my first 4x4 which was a Patrol and i think that the angle on it is calculated as to restore the initial height of the old setup hence i remembered about it when you said you would screw the long sensor on one side. Good luck with it, i hope it'll work

i dont think you need to worry about those braided oil hoses leaking tbh. they are waaayyy over specced for what they need to actually resist pressure wise.
DOnt worry about it, fit the pipe to the sender for the gauge

bless u and can’t see why it won’t work, I’m also preferring the other lcd display because it has an alarm which I can adjust accordingly

thks again

Amazingly I also fitted a Y piece just like that to an old 1.8 Marina engine in a kit car, back in about 1988, seems they still make 'em! The pressure switch is such a joke, by the time the light lights up the damage is done anyway. If you just fit a gauge it tells you loads more and eliminates the need for the switch and light. Just IMHO!!
Course, I'm forgetting Mr Ecu probably will not allow such a thing, Oh no!

Hi

indeed the ecu would more than likely throw a tantrum ,lol

workshop manual says a min oil pressure should be 0.5 bar yet the switch is 0.3bar , but found out it’s supposed to be where the pressure is at its lowest and that’s why the pressure switch is at 0.3 bar

the Y piece turned up so will get that fitted when I order a oil pressure gauge think I’ll get the one in previous threads that has the alarm, will try it around 1.0 bar, normal pressure at idle should be around 1.4 bar

Have a new oil pump but as least some peace of mind having the gauge
