Oil Pressure Light

Hello,

I'm not much of a mechanic but here goes.

After about 5 to 10 minutes of driving (although when the problem first started it took longer and now comes on after a very short period) the oil pressure light comes on.

There is plenty of oil in the engine although it does take a very long time to collect in the sump after driving.

There is no serious oil leaking or anything like that.

Is it a dodgy sensor, dodgy oil pump or something else.

check your wiring to the switch first as it may be loose etc , ifr alls ok there buy a new switch and run engine - if the light still comes on after that u got pump probs or something else internally gone wrong .

had this happen on a carlton i owned dropped sump and the gauze on oil pick up full of gunk stopping oil flow

That too but i wouldnt go driving it untill u get it sorted tho , unless u want a fooked motor ..........

something similar to my 300, new sensor fixed problem.

How old is the oil?
