Oil light on all the time

Can anyone help?
Have a freelander X plate 1.8 with the oil light on. The oil level is spot on but the light refuses to go out.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Oil Pump??

Oil Pressure switch??

First you need to find out if the pressure is low. Fitting an oil pressure gauge shouldn't be a big job. Then you can either ignore the light if the pressure's OK, or think about buying a new engine if it's not.

I agree - get a pressure test immediately then go from there - if its the pressure switch costs a few quid if its the engine an few thousands!!!
