Hello
I have just bought a Range Rover L322 Westminster with 75000 miles on it, I know I'm going to regret this but! how do I make oil level monitor show me a reading? I have brought it in from a run, parked on level concrete and waited 10 mins + but all I get is "oil level unavailable" Can anybody advise me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in anticipation

Totally agree with all of the above!! Dipstick has worked for all this time! They just assume nobody wants to open their bonnets!!

Few people bother to use the dipstick to check the oil, and even fewer will bother to use the inconvenient electronic check. My old Citroen used to give on oil level check every time the ignition was turned on with no electronickry.

We're all told we want self driving cars apparently - don't leave home without one. And electric ones as well.

So here's the thing.

Where is the infrastructure to supply the electrical energy that will replace oil - answer there isn't.

You are right about the infrastructure and it cannot be provided in less than 20/30 years. Also, electricity generation is more polluting than a modern diesel engine. I'm all in favour of Hybrids so you can cut the IC engine when crawling in traffic or in the city.
