I have an oil loss, approx 2litres of oil in 7,000 miles, just changed the oil and only about 5 litres came out. I get the odd drips under the motor (doesnt all land rovers) and the engine bay is quite messy from changing oil filters etc as I don't care If I spill the oil but then its hard to tell if anything is leaking or I'm just paranoid.
I also have low coolant in the reservoir so its used some coolant but I haven't topped it up since I had the car, is this normal to loose that much in around 7,000 miles?
Here's the pictures of the leaks.
The first picture doesn't look as bad as it is, the block is quite oily. I don't know if its diesel though from the fuel lift pump?
The second picture I cleaned around the rocker cover as it was covered in oil about three weeks ago. The oil has kept away so I don't think its the rocker cover gasket but around the cyclone breather is a lot of gummy looking oil. Could that be just a warn O ring on the cyclone breather?
