Yesterday Disco S 2 td5 manual drove 230 miles on return, noticed oil on ground, had a quick look last night and the complete underside is covered in oil, all the way back to the draw-bar
This morning this is the observation:
checked all oil levels, all good
it not engine oil gold in colour
it not diesel too thick
it not Power steering tank level full
it not brake fluid tank level full
Most concentrated on driver side at front propeller shaft area the bell housing gearbox, transfer box all covered in oil drops - as is everthing else on the right side.
front axel dry and no drip from input shaft seal .

What am i missing ?

only one missing on your checklist is clutch fluid?

Clutch slave cylinder I reckon.

Mine leaked into the bell housing and gets whipped up onto the right hand side of the inside of the casing by the flywheel/clutch.

It doesnt need much leakage to look a mess !.

Del.

dose not the clutch share with the brakes and that resevoir is still showing full ?
ACE resevoir is showing full as well

i am out of ideas,

i have cleaned the underside as much as i can and will have to follow bit by bit

Drove the TD5 afew miles after cleaning the underside
no oil leak visable
clutch and gear change seem fine
will check for seperate resevoir for clutch

my 300 tdi had a similar issue turned out i hadnt tightened the oil filter up properly when i serviced it oops :D
