The discos pi55ing engine oil from the plug hole underneath the timing belt case, I want to tackle this all in one go next Sunday therefore need to pick up any parts needed during next week.
Im assuming the leak is coming from the front crank seal so shall get a replacement ordered. I changed the belt, gear and tensioner a couple of years ago so am planning on reusing them - unless the belt looks like it's on its way out.
Stoopid question - is there anything else in the timing case that could be causing the leak?
Thanks

Cheers pikey, but could the oil be coming from anywhere else?
I recall theres 2 cam pullys within that case?

Ok, spent an hour this evening stripping it down ready to fit new seals and cam belt.
The entire inside of the timing case was caked in oil:

And it looks like I caught it just in time, signs of premature belt wear on front edge:

Question: do we think the front edge has worn due to misalignment/belt run-off or attack from the engine oil?
Just im wondering whether there is anything else I need to look out for when installing the new belt.

I made a serious c0ck of the last belt change, documented here:

In an attempt to learn something from my previous mistakes (although still haven't bought a belt replacement tool kit!) this time I have removed the rad, not a great help as still have aircon rad in the way, anx am being very cautious making sure that everything is locked in place before removing the belt.

In an attempt to lock the fuel pump pulley this evening, a 9mm drill bit was too small and 10mm too big - so I shall pick up a 9.5 tomorrow.

The plan is to lock the diesel pump with drill bit, ensure the cam pulley is pointing at the arrow and with the crank gear the tooth in line with the woodruff is pointing up at the arrow (the gear has no marking).
At this point I intend to slacken the tensioner, remove the belt and crank gear, replace both crank and cam oil seals then put all back together.

Anything I need to be careful about when removing the cam pulley? I really don't want to go through the whole process 10 times to get the engine running again - like what happened last time!!

Thanks muchly

Just checked 3 years ago it was, not a huge amount of miles. Wondering whether I over tensioned it as used a clicker wrench but would have thought that would result in tooth wear not along the edge.
Will be using a digital display one this time

usually undo the 3 bolts first then center bolt

what's the purpose of the 3 outer bolts tooth adjustment (outer shell of the pulley rotation) as with the diesel pump?
If so, is it possible to leave these alone and still remove the pulley by the centre bolt?

Your belt wear is caused by the oil as the oil attacks the rubber causing failure so be sure to wash 100% of the oil off before new belt goes on with brake cleaner or similar. You will need a couple of cans to get that lot off
