disco 1 P reg 300tdi, I have a oil leak from the back 2 injector securing bolts, this is the part that is protuding from the cylingder head with threads on the end & the injector clamp plate fits on top of with a securing nut on the end, this is what holds the injector in place. When I removed the heater plugs from these two cylinders thay had engine oil on the stem, top half, but running down. can this part be removed & replaced or sealed, I have a manual but nothing to cover this problem. to veiw the part look in Haynes workshop manual 1989 to 1995 2495cc chapter 4 fuel, page 4-10  this leak is running down the outside of the engine as well as getting onto the heater plugs inside the cylinder head. will look faward to your reply.

The two most common leak places that I know of are: the rocker cover gasket and the plastic cylinder breather thing attached to the rocker cover.

I fixed both leaks on mine using Hylomar Blue.

thanks but they have been sorted longe ago & the weepage is 100% from the injctor clamp mount. the truck runs 100% no smoke recon engine 20`000 miles ago, I have 2 300tdi`s both run the same. thanks.

Hi Topgun
I have this exact problem on injector nearest bulkhead.I changed the injector sealing washer but still get little bubbles from around the injector/clamp.
I will watch your thread for any solutions :)

I am lead to believe that this part can be scewed out right hand thread, thread tape put around it and put back in, I will give it a go at the weekend see if I can get it out, will post with result. I am an ex tec of past years, but what can go wrong & all that, so may be in need of a head come Monday????

I also have this problem on injectors 3 and 4 and will try replacing the sealing washers as I think some diesel is blowing past the injectors.

How do you get the sealing washers out of the hole in the head or are they not too far down.

Haven't removed any injectors yet!!

or just poke down the hole with a scewdriver, soon come out. good tip to put them back in slide one up a screwdriver shaft hold it with your finger put the screwdriver down the injector way let it go then put the injector in. simple.

Injectors can be really tight-I know
Best way is to remove rocker cover and put a spanner on the injector (after removing spill pipes and pipes from pump) and twist from side to side until they are loose-worked for me :D

Ok` took both back injector bolt mounts out, yes they are right hand thread & yes they both had oil behind, but we looked down the threads with a light also pocked around with a peace of mig wire, there are no access to any oilways just a threaded hole. Both back ones where loose & my concluion is that oil was still running down from the rocker cover gasket which we replaced 6000 miles ago & used a good sealant to boot, (belt & bracess). the only reasen oil was on the glow plugs as I pulled them out, engine oil must have been in the indentation & run onto them as I withdrew. I have replaced the mounts with a thread lock & sealant, so that will stop oil getting behind them. when you get parts out of the way you can then see the slow but sure increeption of oil from that ho so difficult to seal rocker gasket. good luck with sealing it. Ho & the bubbling I could see comming from the injector mounts, would be high vibration waves from the injectors 300bare opening pressure causing air to be incorperated with the oil.
