Oil in TD5 injector Loom???

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to check to see if I have oil in my 2000 TD5
injector loom?

The red ECU plug is clean but the local LR garage have told me thats
not to say that oil is'nt in it at the other end and causing me
problems!

Would this produce the common symptoms or would they only present when
the oil reaches the red ECU plug?

Remove the engine cover. Right at the front of the cylinder head is an
electrical plug socket that comes out of the bottom of the cam cover.
Simply pulls off.

Have a look at the top of the plug and see if it has oil in it.

Finally got chance to have a look at the plug. There is some oil in
there. Im guessing it shouldbe bone dry??

I have managed to borrow a known good injector loom from a local
independant. Thought I would swap that over tomorrow and see if it
makes any difference.

Any suggestions how to clean the plug (that plugs into the cylinder
head) on the end of the loom that goes back to the ecu?

I had thought of blowing compressed air into each pin hole???

I thought there was a factory recall on some Discos maybe have a scan at
http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/r...e=Land Rover&modelID=A1&makeId=C3&lowIndex=18
and see if your VIN is in the list ? Reminds me I must email Gordon and see
if he has got his TD5 sorted yet
