I have oil in my intercooler pipes and i think its excessive.Done all the usual-service,EGRbypass,silicone hoses. Its a freelander1.No oil leaks out since i fitted the new intercooler pipes but am i just masking the problem?.Is my turbo the problem?.No smoke and performance is fine.

Only on 50,000 and had regular services from new. This crankcase breather thing worries me.Changed the round filter in there a few times but is that enough.Have had a loss of power sometimes when towing my caravan.Other times its great. Is there an easy way to tell if excessive oil is getting passed the turbo

could be blown seals on your turbo, also make sure you check your intercooler for excessive oil in there and flush it thoroughly with intercooler flushing solvent if you have. as sible88 said the turbos are a S**T to work on.

I wondered if it might just be oil in the intercooler. When i took the pipes off there was clean oil in the pipes and i changed the oil 1000 miles ago so would expect it to be dirty.Obviously its not being mixed with exhaust since the EGR bypass so its not so ****ty but there did seem to be more than you would expect.I thought it might just burn off.

Having done one on a gaylander and new 320d I would rather do the BMW all day long.

Not only is it on the side not the back, they put holes in the air box to un-do the exhaust bolts for turbo.

As you have to take injectors and inlet manifold off for gaylander.

They really didnt think about it when fitting it to the gaylander.
They give you back ack cos it's so high and at the back.

Hope this helps you decide to let someone else do the job who doesn't really know the complications lol

Hi we have the same problem on 05 td4 fee 1, 67k had for 4 months still under an extended warranty owing to oil leaking from intercooler pipe & oil leaks. When we picked up the car got home & looked at oil level only 2mm on bottom of dip stick, filled up. Now been filled up twice by garage oil twice down to below half level. Garage are refusing to investigate or rectified saying this is normal. Do they know more ?? we smell a rat Last mot stated excessive smoking. The garage are prepared to lose the sale instead of repair any idea's The car go back next week will never be a Land Rover owner again Thanks OLLIEU
