Hi all

did a 6 month service on my disco yesterday, noticed the new oil filter did not match the old one, it is shorter about 4" tall instead of the old one being about 5", it also has some sort of non-return valve as i couldnt prime it with oil like i usually do.

I think it was a UFI filter, the only code i can see on the box was AEU214L.

Should i get another or leave it??

Dave

thanks for that,

searching on Google, i see in the pictures that this one looks longer than mine, I'll probably order a new one.

Like they say.......Its not the length that matters, as long as it functions satisfactorily you'll be fine :D

Just did mine today along with the fuel filter.

I primed the fuel filter with injeector cleaning fluid but didn't bother priming the oil filter - Should I have?

NEXT:

Getting the **** off withoutt jizzing fecking oil everywhere - any suggestions????

Nah, it up to you, I just do it cos it stops starvation duringthe first few seconds of starting while the pump fills the empty filter can.

But what about the oil all over yer diff and other roddy bits directly underneath the filter - It took me longer to wash down the drive than it took me to change the oil!!!!!

Next time I shall do it on the moor somewhere
