i changed the oil and filter i cant get the oil filter housing to seal ive tried many times shes a series 3 swb diesel but everytime i start her the oil flys out i know im goin to get slatted for this question but ill take it on the chin plz help many thanks .......

EYUP fergie you aint got it sealed mate, you got the can sitting on the housing, hence peeing out,,,,,,,,,,,,,any way 1 have you got the sealing ring in+is it twisted check .no2 the housing is alloy check you have,nt bruised it,clean it up if you have ,no3 when you put the can back on rotate the can as you tighten the bolt, just nip it up not toooo tight,no4 use a good torch/light to check the can is inside the rim on the sealing ring,if ok fire the old girl up ,she should be ok......hope this helps,,,dave

PS another good tip mate ,next time you take the filter off have a nut ready+bolt and copper washer, drill a hole in the can ,weld the nut on over the hole, fit the bolt with copper washer, when you fit the can make sure it at the bottom, that way you can drain the filter first before you take it off and dont get a pint of black engine oil down yer arm.......dave:D;)

make sure you,ve got the right size ring its the big one, push it in with a small screwdriver
even put grease in the groove to hold it in temporary....the drain plug in the can works a treat tho,i,ve done this all my series l/rs,as you will have found out the filter being at 45 degrees is a P.I.T.A.
its normally so black under there you cant see sfa check the cans not on the housing and you will be OK mate ,,,,dave :D
