oil covered glow plugs???

hi there.

recently stuck a 200tdi into my 90. turns over well but refuses to start. removed all glow plugs an there covered in oil, almost dripping off.

any ideas? first on whats causing it an second, is it fixable????

Are you sure the glow plugs are working? Have you tested them off the engine using a battery and leads? Don't hold the tip because they get hot. Have you got power to the glows whilst starting?
Check the basics first before thinking the worst. My bet is that you don't have power to the glows on the engine.
