ohhh sh!T!

i drove my landy home from my parents house today, about 6 miles in total... tarmac roads....
upon turning into my drive that is covered with loose chippings i discovered that id driven the entire journey home with the DIFF LOCK ON!!! :~(

dammit

now i have a whining noise coming from somewhere under the centre console... sounds like turbo whistle to me though... but its never made this noise before.

have i knackered my transfer box?

im going to do a TBox oil change tomorrow and see what comes out.

anyone who can theorise as to whats gone would be helpful.

could try and drive it in reverse to un-wind it.

never thought of that... i drove it in reverse for a metre or so to disengage diff lock but i didnt reverse it any further than that... just drove it for a while and heard the noise...

TBH 6mile is a bit far to drive in diff lock
could try and reverse it but it probably has more wind up than Jeremy Beadle

did the light on the dash not come on to tell you that difflock was on?

ya could jack one wheel up off the floor and watch the fooker spin. !!

jacked wheel up... no spin

just to be sure i put in N and released handbrake.

will have another look tomorrow when ive done the oil change.
