Been doing bits and bobs to the XS.

Yesterday removed the rear step, which was stuck down, and noticed the 'fridge' wire had been cut and hidden away, so decided to look at the front spot lights, all the wires have been cut there too, the heater fan and rear wiper doesn't work either so guessing that has aswel.

Most of the rear wiring is held together with them god awful scotch clips.

Anybody have an idea where to begin?

I'm thinking buy a load of wire, solder and heat shrink, pull our all the bodges and start again.

Don't pull anything without first understanding the reason for the bodge, and I dont meant easy, they were cheap:rolleyes:

Someone spent time and although not a lot, they did spend money too! Why?

yes solder and heat shrink, but try bypassing before just re-wiring, there could be other reasons for component failures.

Why not pull the loooms off your other motor?

Good idea, i was just going to take out each wire in series and put a new soldered one in. It looks like a birds nest in the back bumper, with all sorts from 240v to thin stuff, so would rather have it nice and tidy.

I would have ripped all the bits off the 300, but that has gone too a new home now. So can't, but do have half an engine in the garage ha ha.
