Sailed down to sunny Wales in meveggielandee Friday night just got through m.o.t. with welding of outriggers, swivel bearings, top bearings.

Saturday 2.0pm no bloody power, limped back to Abergele from Rhyl at 10 miles per hour causing the longest bank holiday tailback imagineable.

Lifted the hood to see lots of air coming from the fuel filter out pipe.
Injector pump sounds like it has a bionic panel beater inside.
Will not rev more than 1200 revs.
The breakdown bod said it has probably slipped a tooth on the cambelt.

Any suggestions/thoughts/knowledge any one?

Just got back to Tammerth on the back of a BIG LORRY.
Fooookinn eeellllll.:(   :(

Fuel sedimenter blocked, lift pump shagged?

You'll never convince the world to change to veggie at this rate, mate

And then again maybe not

If it's back feeding pressure through the air filter the timing belt COULD be the cause  ............. suggest you dont run the engine until this has been checked and either put down as the cause or eliminated from blame BEFORE you run the engine again ......... could do alot of damage continuing to run a mistimed engine

I respect your experience and advise old boy.

Just had a mobile muckynick round.
Lift pump fookered.
Fitted a new one and vvvrrroooommmm!!!!!

Had it all checked over.
Injection pump does,nt sound too healthy, chrome ball underneath leaking, swivel shims need replacing/reshimming,clutch iffy, shocks sloppy.

Think it's time to cut and run.
Took the plunge and ordered a TD5 se Oslo Blue biege leather auto, standard spec plus about £3000's worth off addons.

No more veggie i'm afraid, perhaps bio in the summer.

I KNOW I KNOW TURNCOAT:D

B.T.W. none of the associated running problems were down to veggie/bio according to M.M.N.

Just thought i'd put the record straight on that

If you say so, Veggielandee, if you say so  :D ;)

Good luck with the new Td5, when do you get it??

Dave

Doesn,t that engine sound sweet,it's also like floating on air -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ang on !!!!! It does float on air.:D

B.T.W. how long have you resided in Frarnse???

I bin in Frarnze for 'bout 7 years m'duck

Sorry, about that, I simply have no idea where that came from.

Yes, we bought in 2001 and moved over early 2002 - without a shadow of a doubt the best thing we could have done.

In some respects I feel sad at the way I feel about England now, but it's not the country I once loved and served.

So, for the rest of my life I'll be just very happy, thank you very much, living in France, being based in mainland Europe so I can go off tripping all over - bike or Disco it doesn't matter. It's the journey for me and who I meet along the way that counts.

But, getting back to your new purchase, tell me all about it and how does it drive in comparison to a good (running) Tdi 300 ??

Cheers

Dave

All that sounds like a dream Dave wow,you certainly have looked after yourself and planned the future, controlled your destiny e.t.c.

Driving the TD5 i thought would be very much like the 300 tdi, but smoother.
OMG it's another world.
EBD,ACE,ETC,MLS,AIR SUS'N,CLIMATE FRONT AND REAR,ELECTRIC/HEATED SEATS,HILL DESCENT,E.S'ROOFS,FACELIFT MODEL OBVIOUSLY.

Like driving on rails is the expression, hardly any body roll,oh and automatic btw.
Got back into meelandee to go home and on the way back she seemed tired and worn out.:(
Think she needs a good overhaul.

CAN NOT WAIT UNIL FRIDAY MORNIN

considère le vegieandee vous bâtard chanceux

considère le vegieandee vous bâtard chanceux - pas du tout non !!! Je ne veut pas des soucis associé avec d'huile colza, mais aussi c'est trop chère ici !!

Planning my future, I don't think so, but the truth is we never know how long each of us has on this earth - so I don't want to waste a day !!

From your description my mouth was watering at the prospect of a TD5.

Maybe for me after the higher rates of roadtax start to bite will be my time to buy. Anyway I'm still very happy with my Tdi300 auto, you know!! Sunroofs, etc etc.

The very best of luck for Friday am, lets have some pictures soooooon

Cheers
Dave
