What a bloody awful day last Friday, I did a clanger and managed to poke two holes through the roof interior cloth and fibre glass (I think??). Any idea as to the best way of dealing with this, is it possible to replace the interior and if so is the scrappy the best place or can one patch it up. Has anyone else experianced this?

I just tried to take a photo with my phone of the two gaping holes showing the metal but it's just too dark at the moment. All joking aside, what's underneath the material is it a pre moulded foam & fibreglass base or something else. How about replacing it, is it hard job removing and replacing it, how delicate. My Disco is a 1998 series 1, am I restricted to finding one from the same series. Any tips?

Cheers

My 97 300tdi had a new headlining fitted just a couple of months ago by the dealer when I bought it from. It had the usual sag. The dealer had a tough job finding a new one which are about £400. some are sold on ebay including replacement roof lights but can cost a fortune. The dealer had a really good lad working for him and they removed the lining, checked and sealed the sunroofs and drains, put in the new lining in a day. Looks fantastic. I was lucky I got it for £250 and had it fitted for free. They told me it was a straight forward job you just have to careful and patient putting it back, no greasy finger prints.
