Sorry to hear about losing your job. Not much of a consolation, but just keep an ear to the ground regarding opportunities.
The handling may well suffer if you leave the prop shaft off, but mechanically I don't think it will cause any damage.

Tough luck, there. Reckon a lot of us are crossing our fingers `n` touching wood at the mo`. Don`t think any damage likely from running without front prop, may even increase mpg marginally! I know of one gaylander running without front prop for many months with no probs, and suspect there`s a few more "limited edition 2wd" versions out there....

Hope you get something sorted if you are made redundant

Mortgage is insured + 50% fer "Other" Bills Aint got no loans or credit cards so its just the Gas Leccy, Phone/mobiles, Water rates & Car ins ...

Can live without Sky (If I HAVE TO!!) but I think i'll have to "Knock on the 'ead" the weekly visit to "Fling Ya Fat" massage parlour!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

And my mate brings in the ciggies from his fortnightly visits to Dubai!!!!!

Propless is not a problem, driving like that for several months now myself.

Really sorry to hear about the letter mate, fingers crossed here too. What line of work are you in? Isn't it funny how they keep telling us the recession is over...

Hi Raz,

I'm a Heating & ventilation Engineer ..Been doin it fer 36 years now, I do mostly Design & Project Management now Big Commercial jobbies like Hilton Hotels & Sports & fitness centres ect

Sorry to hear about your job.

As the guys have said, no prob running without a prop. The only thing really at risk is the VC (aside from half shafts if burn-outs are your thing! but thats no issue with Diesel)so since yours is already shot you can go as long as you like without.
I ran a Classic for over a year like that, used put the prop back in for off-road, take out for road work.

The name Basingstoke (A.D 990; Embasinga stocæ,[15] Domesday; Basingestoches) is believed to have been derived from the town's position as the outlying, western settlement of Basa's people.[16] Basing, now Old Basing, a village a few miles to the east, is thought to have the same etymology, but is considered by some to be the older settlement. It is also spelt as BasyngStoches, from the same origin.
