This is what happens when someone in a 110 Defender loses it and then reverses back on to the track...

This was on the off road course at Eastnor today. Someone went too fast down a slippery grass slope and lost it. After sliding down side ways he went off to one side and then reversed back on to the track as I was passing...

Rave makes it look straight forward to replace the panel...is it?

Erm sort of. The panel does come off in one piece but it's a big job and involves stripping all of the interior out on that side and cutting thru lots of Panel seal. I hope you got the other guys details and that his insurance is paying for the repair.

If it's a place to which the public would normally have access then your insurance has to pay up!! or just bang a small claims court case at him. End of the day he reversed into him so he's 100% at fault? I'd have taken his fooking 110 in lieu of payment..

Totaly agree with ya there, hope he got some details of him

It's funny in some ways as I came on here tonight to ask the same question.
I had a rear tyre blow out on a dual carriageway this afternoon, when it went it took out the rear wing.

My disco has got similar damage but the window is still in one piece. No intention of fixing it it's only cosmetic.

same here!!! i have replaced rear 1/4s on discos and yes, they are held on with loadsa bonding sealer as well as fasteners!!! just a job that takes paitience, fiddly fingers and a little brute force!!! took mine off a shell we were scrapping and had to be very careful when i was removing it not to distort the "new" one.

I didn't want to bother with insurance...questions about whether its valid off road, questions about whether I was too close to the vehicle in front, given the conditions.
I know a guy locally who breaks a lot of discos so I shouldn't have any trouble getting a replacement panel, although I expect I will have to remove it from the donor to keep the costs down. Just got to hope there is nothing to trouble the MOT tester on Wednesday cos I won't get it done before then

I had similar damage on a Frontera years ago. When it went for an MOT the tester was in two minds about passing it because the body was pushed in past the edge of the tyre. He let it go in the end after I promised to hit it with a hammer when I got home. Nice chap really that guy! :)

Can't comment about the hole left by the window though...haven't a clue.
