Wanted to go away with the club this weekend, but being my first time thought it would be nice to have some company, been a member for about a year as well.

Asked the wife but she said "what's fun about driving about in mud" and then I asked my 21 year old son, he said he would think about it, but when I called him he says he is going to knockhill to see the legends.

Took the wife tonight down this big fokin hill where I am cutting wood and over all sorts of bumps and ruts up to my arse in water and mud, and you know what she said, "cant understand why people do this for fun"

So does any fokir want a wife and son going for fookal, I am gutted.

ware are you an ware wer you thinkin o goin ??

It were meant to be coulport, I stay just outside Lanark. Wife told me tonight that there is a big concert on at loch Lomand so thoughts of going myself kind off wore off, however had to look up the name of the place on the slroc site and noticed it's cancelled due to soft ground.

So que sera sera, I guess.

Gona go the next venue, fook everybody, whats the point of havin a landie.

Too many borin bastids on this planit.

I'll have your son, but only if he is cute :p

I wouldn't take me Disco off road but if you ever wanted a passenger I would be willing to come with you?

I'm not even sure it is the water pump *confused*

A friend of mine who is a mechanic is going to get something so we can pressurise the system to see if we can spot the leak

I topped up with coolant and drove from Aberdeen to just south of Berwick non stop when we got there I popped the bonnet and looked, coolant was a little higher than I topped it up to (but it was hot so it had expanded, however I can't understand why it expands considering I ran all the way with the header tank cap loose) next morning I popped the bonnet and there was a tiny amount of coolant in the header tank so I topped up again and we did about 60 miles driving stopping and starting at certain places for a look around, next morning no coolant in the tank, topped up and drove home non stop(this was yesterday) this morning, again no coolant. I spoke to a LR specialist on the phone and he was telling me it could be something to do with me LPG as it can sometimes give coolant problems.....

Process of ilimination from now on, first job to do a pressure test if that doesn't show up anything I might just change the waterpump anyway after that if it's something to do with the LPG I might just have to live with it as it's likely to be expensive :(

it looks like yu are loosing the water when it cools down, rather than when it is heating up. is there any signs of mayo in the oil - sump?

dont run with the cap loose as the pressure reduces the risk of overheating.

Shunt tha be increases the risk. The lower the pressure the lower the temperature that water will start to boil.

Whoops just re-read your post and realised what you was saying. It jist read funny the first time.

Fooking grounds for Deevorce that is Dave.

Too expensive that, need to see if I can run her over or summut, put some rat pee in her tee might be an idea, might speak to ming and see if he still has ees rat shud be right fat by now.

No sign of Mayo under the oil filler cap, and the when I pull the dipstick out the oil is still the nice golden colour is as it went in (oil doesn't go as black so much on Gas) how would I tell if I had mayo in the sump? plus if water is getting in the sump wouldn't the oil show higher and higher on the dipstick? it's actually getting lower and lower quite slowly due to a slight leak on the rocker cover gasket and the bottom pully seal has a slight weap, all common faults I am led to believe? also led to belive if I fix them they will only go wrong again a few months....

so it aint that then - get the injun warm , turn it orf and then go hunting with a torch and a tissue - see if yu can find a leak - if yu can find where the water is exiting from, then yu can trace it back thro a process of elimination.... UNLESS it is getting into the combustion chambers and being burnt :(.

But water aint ****ing out it's probably only a drip, with the heat in the engine bay on on the engine it's vaporising straight away surely? (well that's what my friend with a mechanic told me anyway

I bought 5 litre of undiluted AF from a car parts place last week £15, Halfrauds wanted £19 for 5 litres ready diluted so I got a five litre bottle and ready mixed 5 litres (what I'm using now) and I've got the remainder of the AF and 5 litres of water at the ready, my eyes are hardly off the temp guage.....

Get a bottle or two of radweld into the system and see if that stops the leak.
I had an issue like this years ago. I ended up putting some cooking dye into the water and got some bright lights all over and under the engine and some clean wood underneath and some silence. I watched listened and waited..... damn boring but I eventually found a rubber hose on a very corroded connector that opened up when cold. The water ran down the hose and dripped off where the hose was coated in oil and gunge. Little wonder I could never see it. Never could explain why there was no puddle under it in the mornings.
