They are not that modable for getting OR , when you need that degree you move on to another landrover model JMHO

They are brilliant off road, mine and many others are used for green laning. Mine has a 2" lift, 235/70/16 BFG AT tyres, Mantec sump guard, and lots of other mods. And ive been using for everyday use and plenty of green laning for 2 1/2 years. :D

Parts are hard to get hold of, SES88 on here sells lift kits. Other parts are best sourced on Forums or Ebay. Or make them yourself. :D

There are a few bits on the bay. Im looking into the lift kit and 205 80 tyres

I used to have 205/80/16 tyres, but my modulars are 16x7" so 235/70/16 are a better fit (and they came with the wheels). Same diameter as the 205/80's too. :D

Sounds good. Anyone thought about using jeep modulars with the 0 offset?. Woukd be the same as using 35 mm spacers

My modulars are approx ET20 no wheel spacers required, heres how they look.

Standard LR alloys are ET45 with 30mm wheel spacers they are effectively ET15. If you use 0 offset, the wheels may protrude the arches which is an MOT failure. Unless you make extended wheel arches. They will also put extra strain on the drive components.

Jeep wheels are a different PCD so won't fit directly

As said, we do lift kits, guards etc, can find them on eBay (username ctr-88)

I wasnt dissing the Freelander , (I run two) , but just saying that trying to make them Uber capable Off road vehicles , usually ends in a lot of effort for not a lot of improvement , and risks making them less comfortable , and reliable in their major function, and results in damage either quickly or more long term . A bit like trying to make a defender a road rocket:D

No worries mate. Ive had disco v8 and series 2a. These freelanders a so easy to use, no body rot or high valve to worry about damaging.
Just think there being put on a bit much. Ive seen people call them gaylander? Were all part of the family

If your looking for a good tyre for use on Freelander , then Cont X contact AT are brilliant , good in snow , and mud , and standing water. They dont wear fast either . , little bit of whine at speed, but a good deep tread . JMHO
