Hi all
sorry if this is in wrong section I'm new to this group
can any one suggest some good all terrain tyres for a td4
What is people's views of the freelander 1 being used off road
thanks again

I'd recommend black round ones I find these are best, as for using fl1 off road try not to get it wet and you may be ok.

My biggest piece of advice would be do a search it's been covered millions of times. Don your hard hat and your thick skin as you will need it in ear

And make sure they have a hole in the middle for the wheel, and none elsewhere, to let the air out! :D

Yokohama Geolandar AT'S are good all round tyres. They will do off road without compromising on road ability;)

See that's the problem when you ask about Freelander and its ability - you get the Neanderthals from the rust bucket forums kicking off before the Freelander guys get a chance to reply.

However, as for the tyres, yawn a cursory search will come up with all sorts of answers from the many predeeding threads on the same subject. If you're worried about the size of tyre that can fit, search on the size of tyre your considering and you should get back lots of info.

As for its abilities - it is great unless you get big obstacles or deep ruts & water (because ground clearance isn't great) or you want to go up or down very steep stuff (because there's no low-range). However mud, sand, ice, snow will not stop a Freelander where it might a bigger truck. Traction is what Freelander is all about and its superb at it - better than than the vehicles of people that tell you Freelander is ****e. You can get lift-kits that are easy to install and because Freelander is independent suspension it lifts everything except the wheels and will give you the same sort of clearance as a Discovery 1/2.

Just have a search on YouTube and you'll see the sort of ability Freelander has.
