i am looking to buy new or used

Tyres
2 inch lift kit or 2 inch blocks ? whats best? also i heard anymore than 2 inches , you have to start changeing other things
Winch
bumper
Snorkel
Diff guards

Looking to do this on the cheap put just after a bit advice to put me in the right direction :D

You didn't say what tyres it has, but a decent set of mud tyres is probably the single best thing you could do to improve things.

As WLM said most people will be surprised with the ability of a standard disco.

If you need all those mods to drive a Greenlane you probably shouldn't be driving it !

As for pay n plays there will always be somewhere your landy won't go so it's all relative. You can have alot of fun without all the mods and will teach you more.

:Dcheers guys think the first port of call will be tyres and these 2 inch lift kit blocks to start with and diff guards etc

Here is my landy.

payed £700 ES model full history with cambelt and clutch and MOT till may next year and everything works all the aircon, sun roofs and its solid under the car to, one patch in boot floor and one on sill :D

I wouldn't worry too much about the lift blocks yet.

If you've got money left after the tyres go for underbody protection and also extend rear axle breather to the top of the engine bay.

You willbe suprised what a standard disco can do

12 years ago, I trundled along to a pay 'n' play at Slab Common in my fairly standard V8 ES Disco on road tyres. I was expecting a few dusty tracks and a couple of puddles - how wrong I was. I sat in the "car park" for 30 minutes, convinced I wouldn't even get to the edge of the woods and the start of the course!!

When I eventually plucked up the courage, I was amazed at where the Disco would go. I only got stuck once! With MTs it would have been great but obviously not up to the really tough stuff.

Get used to your Disco and build up in stages - tyres first.
