Hi all

im going to start fabricating off road parts for Land rovers, and before i begin i just wanted to ask what kind of parts people would like to see cheaper, im going to begin with Series parts as i currently have a series 2 then move onto discovery and defender parts.

Items like, winch bumpers front and rear, steering guards, roll cages, underbody protection

and what sort of differences in these modifications that people want to see, for example a winch bumper to fit a series 2, a rear winch bumper for a discovery

Let me know people and i will start designing and manufacturing.

All british built

Hi Def,

Just an idea to add to your list ( if you have not already ), how about good high quality secure custom fitted storage boxes.

Cheers

Also,

tubular front bumper with optional integrated A bar and/or recovery points.

Or how about solid steel U shaped steel ( Jate rings) that will fit over existing steering guards. you could even add a straight bar across the U to make even stronger.

Cheers

Haha....seriously I'm well impressed by the strength of the roof line and body, it's just the ali between the roof struts on the outside curve is.....ahem....vunerable  I'm thinking low profile roof line sliders.

I'll probably experiment with some oak at first.

To the OP......I might be interested in a Series steering guard especially if it can give some protection to the front diff as well like some Fender ones do. Bar rather than plate.

And just a reminder, if you wish to go ahead with this as a business venture you'll need to at least donate to the forum. Accywingy's not a greedy chap so it could be well worth your while :)

All great ideas, thanks guys, and of course forum members will get a special discount! ive applied to rent a workshop and as soon as i get it through, i will start fabricating! i do have a slight habbit of over engineering things i make! but thats all good for land rovers!

and Blue Beasty, a Series Steering guard will be probably the first thing i look into as i need one for mine, with built in recovery eyes, what do you mean when you say bar rather than plate?

A cage type framework so it doesnt act as a plough in reverse, dont know how practical it would be, just a thought

How about a disc brake conversion kit for Series axles - given they are either at "mortgage your house and sell your wife" prices or, errm, not available (other than doing the disco axle conversion)

+1 . Last time I looked I had to lay down in a darkened room to recover.
