Taking my son to an interview for his degree course, had to brake hard 'cos of a numpty and suddenly couldn't get third .. then couldn't get first or fifth ..... second and fourth were OK!
Pulled over, got out, ****ing it down with rain, looked underneath, dunno what for, but looked anyway, all looked good. Tried again, couldn't get the odd gears .. so drove him on in 2nd and 4th to his interview so he wouldn't be late.
Drove home, had a look underneath again, nothing. Started up again and noticed the phone charger fitting sticking out a bit from the cigarette lighter .. coils of wire from it had 'fallen' into the gearlever gaiter and simply stopped the lever from moving forwards! Felt like a right prat! Hadn't seen it when I looked 'cos it's same colour and 'hidden' from view by the gaiter itself!
No worries now, but have a project on to shorten the wires to phones etc ...
