Hi chaps,

Bit of mystery behaviour from the P38A 2.5DT ('95) the other day.

It was the only hot day we've had recently and the cab was baking as I climbed in so I put the air-con on LOW. Set off and after coming off the dual carriageway noticed the air suspension stayed stuck on motorway height. Tried pushing the button to go to normal ride height but it was locked down. Anyway, a few miles later it stalled as I approached a junction. On restarting everything seemed to go back to normal but every so often as I approached a roundabout or similar it stalled again. The temperature gauge was smack in the middle of the dial so no issues there.

When I got to my destination I left the cab open and the bonnet up. On the return journey there were no issues at all and yesterday and today she ran fine.

Any ideas or is it just a case of waiting until the other boot drops, so to speak?

Cheers,

J

Stalling is most certainly down to fuel quantity servo. Get it on diagnostics.

Thanks Wammers. No response because it hasn't done it since so cannot reproduce the effect. Slightly worrying! Fingers crossed it was just a bit of dirty fuel or similar, althought the tank was nowhere near empty.

Missus said it did it again yesterday! Must be to do with the heat. Something doesn't like these continental temperatures.

Too busy to check for fault codes - flat out at work. I'll post up if anything shows. I suspect some old electronic is starting to leak current at high temperatures but no idea where to start looking.

Unless the air temperature is going out of whack somewhere?

See if it does it with the aircon off.

You probably haven't heard all the way down at the bottom end fo France but we seem to be having an atypical summer. Rather than the usual downpour you could flash-fry a steak on any reasonably horizontal surface.

Turn the air-conditioning off? Almost certain death. Will try when the car is stationary and medics are on hand.
