Odd brake fault

Hi all, occasionally when braking at walking pace such as rolling up to a junction I get a squeak from the front brakes and the handbrake, abs and TC warning lights all come on with accompanying chimes. Turn the engine off and the TC and hand brake lights go out as does the abs one after driving about 10 yards.

Only happens under very light braking at very slow speeds, if I brake hard at any speed all is ok except for a slight judder through the steering.

Suggestions appreciated as always.

Could be worn pads eating the discs.

Run your finger nail from the inside to outside and see if it catchs on the lip of the disc.

I will bow down to other more technically minded contributors but is that not the 3 amigos and could it not be early signs that a hub is on its way out? I think once abs light has been activated it stays on until you get to 11 mph or something?

When were the brakes changed? and where?

squeaking possibly down to no copper grease on rear of pads or the callipers weren't cleaned of brake dust before reassembly.

with regards to the dash lights, the TC is controlled by the ABS sensors so I'd start there.

The shuddering could be warped disc(s), sometimes one "hard" brake manoeuvre (without ABS kicking in) can ruin them. If you brake hard and use the brakes a lot (like a lot of people do in Automatics in traffic) and then keep the brakes applied while stopped the area where the pads are applied stays hotter than the rest of the disc which causes the warping.
