Are those £50 scanners any good for offering up diagnostic codes? If so can you recommend one? The Bluetooth ones look handy.

Thanks....

OBD scanners will be great for anything OBD compatible.

So, if you have a LR .......... 'specially a Disco 1 or 2, then, probably get better info from some used tea leaves or divining rods ;)

The cheapest with decent coverage for D2 but with some limitations would be this one https://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/fo...LiWzMdupYNc0DxcLdL9ALUjD7AuVt6mUaAm-CEALw_wcB generic OBD2 readers are wasted money unless you have a V8
totally agree with this.
I have an earlier model and Foxwell 520 pro and it works fine for my TD5 and the obd2 bit solved a problem on my wife's Citroen C3
If ALL you want is OBD2 then go to Halfords or somewhere and buy their 15£ jobbie. ~it'll be fine, for the engine/emissions, but it won't tell you which hub/sensor is turning the three amigos on! Or anything else!

I do have a cheapo OBD2 reader someone gave me as a present.
Never tried it with my TD5.
One day I'll try it and see if it can actually do anything.
Just for a laugh!;)
