Ok I have tried everything else including a Synergy2 but there is still a flutter wobble type feeling at about 2500 to 3000 rpm

What would it feel like if an injector has gone? I have had it on a diagnostic and nothing is showing up.
Performance below and above is good.

I have a spare injector to try but without knowing which one it's a job more than I want to do without bring sure.

Any thoughts?

Thanks I need to get this done by a garage I think - I had it done by a guy in work (a college) but the readings of the live showed over fueling in number one with an EGR bypass fitted - he asked me to put the EGR back then on retest number 1 seemed ok but 4 and 4 seemed out - I am not convinced.

Do you know if I can plug on a diagnostic with a Synergy2 fitted? Otherwise I will have to take it off.

As far as I know the synergy will have no adverse effecft on the diag software,,,remember all it does is up the fuel rail pressure and over fuel the system....

Good point - it's a bit ironic really that I put the Synergy on thinking it might sort the flutter because I was focusing on the MAF. I will swop out the injectors one at a time.

How can I do a leak back test easily without any special test gear? Anyone got any ideas?

leak off test
pot for each injector and a tube(s) into corisponding pots run for period of time- compare pots. rough test

Ok an update - I took all the injectors out - the tips were ok but there was some carbon on them so I popped the ends only into an ultrasonic jewelry cleaning bath with bike cleaner called Muc off in it then with fine brass brush cleaned them - they came up a treat.

THEN I going a split in a small pipe coming from a unit under the EGR - the pipe that is the longer of the two and goes up to what looks like the brake servo pipe - replaced it now.

Put it all back very carefully and it seems to be better - perhaps still a little flutter but nothing like it was. Fingers crossed it will sort itself out now.

If anyone can look at that vacuum unit can you just check which pipe goes where - I think I got it correct - looking from above left pipe to EGR right to servo pipe.

erm...haven't u fitted an egr bypass?

Yes I have - on pipe comes up to the bypass and locates on a pin which is a solid on so effectively blocks the hose off BUT this little unit underneath has another hose coming out and that was split - perhaps oh makes no difference and did not contribute to the fix.

Why did you ask - was it because that unit below is no longer used? Why does it go to the servo pipe?

See how it goes tomorrow.
