evening all,

I have been searching the forum for a few hours with no luck :(

I have the "3 amigos" on in my 1999 TD5 at the min, but as of yet no way to check the fault codes.

I used to run a Nissan 200sx, I never had the comm cable, but there was a way to short pins in the socket to make the engine light flash and show a code, same for Subaru's they have "test" pins in the loom to show.

I also have OBD" leads and software for my laptop, it works well with my 2005 Volvo XC70 - it fits the socket will not talk to my Disco.

I also need the ACE light clearing since removing the pump/block.

and have the occasioal flash of the srs light.

I wouldn't mind paying to get it checked, but at £45 a time I'd rather just pay for the ACE and SRS corrections as the 3 ammigos seem a bit popular.

No chance m8... the D2 Td5 is not obd2 compliant ... u might read ECM codes on V8 but no generic scanner will comunicate with the other ECU's. Go for Hawkeye or Nanocom

Nope.... not on D2, just on older Rangies and the ABS on D1.... u'll have to bite the bullet sometimes if u want a dedicated scanner for D2;).

will do then, how much do the specific readers/comms machines fetch?

dont mind spending a bit on a second hand one, but don't want to go mad, would £150-£200 sort out a used one?

and where would I look? (other than in the forsale section here and ebay)

Thanks
