I would have a RRC over a Disco and day but not yet found a better rugged go anywhere tow anything bomb proof truck as a Daihatsu Fourtrak (Rocky) They are the 3 door you are after, easy to work on and built well. only draw back is the 3000mile servicing on them, I had one and only had to replace the exhaust box, my bro has one on 270000 miles and has been abused on the farm.

OK, I'm convinced. Just drive it over here so we can swap :crazy_driver:

Would love to but sold the fourtrak for a shogun sport. Then put that through a hedge in the snow so have a focus and a v8 rrc..

So you learned from your experiences and now drive around in a RRC with a Focus on the back seat so if you go thru another hedge in the RRC you can just continue your journey in the Focus, right?

Sounds like a practical combo as fetching the morning paper in a V8 does tend towards overkill. Whereas RRC may be more comfortable to drive thru hedges in snowstorms.

Tough noisy old truck. Head failed on mine very early on under warranty but after that it just ran and ran:)

Something like that, 2.0i focus as a daily and a long distance runner, the RRC in currently under restoration/modification, look at thread 'Tinkering with my Vogue' and you will see what I have been doing!!

she shouldn't have been with her kids in the back then. much easier to avoid rampaging 4x4s if you sit in the front when driving. :p

She ended up at the bottom of a 6 foot ditch. Reversed the shogun off the hedge and back through the ditch connected the tow rope and dragged her out. Luckily I had a bull bar on which took most of the damage but is screwed up the suspension. So in the spring swapped it for the focus without fixing anything apart from taking the bent and twisted bull bar...
