Hi all,
'97 4.6HSE
It's drainig my battery overnight. I have disconnected the remote receiver antenna a while back and it's been working fine, but now there's something else. I noticed yesterday when I finished driving, that when I pull the key from the ignition, all the little lights on the ride-height gauge light up and they stay lit, even after I lock the car. Also, the whole gear selector arrangement stays illuminated when I leave the car.
Any ideas? This needs sorting out asap.

Lucas, may you fry......!:(

Thanks,
Henrik

Try pressing mode switch next to gear lever after you switch off and take key out.

Hi
I did that. All it does, is switch in and out of sports mode. It seems that somehow the gearbox doesn't know that I've stopped the engine and pulled the key.
Driving me nuts, this is!

You need one of the electricary lads then. Looks like there's a relay staying engaged, look through diagrams find out which one it is that controls those function and check it.

I agree, it could be a relay. The strange thing, though, is that those lights on the ride-height gauge light up when I switch off. There's nothing wrong with the EAS when the car is running. If it were a stuck relay, those lights should be glowing when the car was running as well, shouldn't they?
It could be that it's all down to my three-month-old battery being knackered and that a lack of voltage is causing the BECM to act-up. If, on top of everything else, this car needs a new battery three times a year, it'll be hard to swallow....

Have you looked at the fuse box some very strange things happen if that is faulty. Never had it myself but well documented on here.

my bet would be fuse box under the bonnet the problem is hat it might have corroded inside and you cannot tell from outside sometimes you get problems showing at relay 7 check for a smell of burning
